Brazilian Blowout Q & A...

What is Brazilian Blowout?
Brazilian Blowout smoothes the hair through the use of a proprietary polymer system that bonds amino acids to the surface of the hair. This treatment is 100% salon safe. What makes the Brazilian Blowout treatment effective is the use of the Super Nutrient Complex in conjunction with a proprietary polymer system. This combination is what rounds the follicle, smooths the cuticle and repairs any pre-existing damage.
Who is the best candidate for the Brazilian Blowout?
Everyone who has frizzy, damaged or chemically processed hair can benefit from this treatment. We have performed this service on many types of hair since October of 2009 (longer than anyone in the state of Ohio). We always give a thorough consultation to assess how you will personally be affected by the treatment.
What kind of look will I get from the Brazilian Blowout?
The hair will be left totally frizz-free, shiny, effortlessly manageable and with plenty of body and bounce. There will still be the option to wear hair curly/wavy (depending on the hair type) and the freedom to blow dry hair smooth and straight in a fraction of the time invested prior to receiving the treatment.
How long does the Brazilian Blowout service take?
Expect to be in the salon between 1 1/2 to 2 hours depending on the thickness and length of the hair.
How straight will my hair be?
If your hair is wavy, the treatment will make your hair appear naturally straight and healthy. If your hair is very curly, it will minimize frizz while enhancing the appearance of the natural wave/curl. If you have straight, frizzy hair, Brazilian Blowout will eliminate frizz and promote radiant shine.
Will my hair still have volume?
It depends on what you want. We have the ability to control the volume by changing our application technique.
Can I still curl my hair?
Yes, you can still use a curling iron and it will give a beautiful frizz-free curl. We recommend the use of heat-protecting products when using heated appliances on the hair.
Will I still have to use a flat iron to achieve straight hair?
Most people will only need the flat iron for putting finishing touches on the hair. However, if you start with extremely curly hair, you may still need to flat iron through the hair to get it straight. The difference will last much longer.
Can I still receive a Brazilian Blowout if I have highlights and/or color?
Yes, the product will actually improve the health of color-treated hair by conditioning the hair while sealing the cuticle for enhanced color, reduced frizz and radiant shine. Keep in mind that you will not be able to receive your next coloring for two weeks after the treatment so its best to color the day of or just prior to receiving the Brazilian Blowout,
Can you apply the Brazilian Blowout directly on top of other relaxers and thermal straighteners?

Yes. The Brazilian Blowout actually works best on chemically treated hair, and helps to improve the hair's condition by fortifying each strand with essential amino acids.

This service is great to perform when someone is trying to move away from having relaxers or Japanese straighteners. It puts movement back into the hair, allowing the hair to look its best.

Can you swim in the pool or ocean after you have the Brazilian Blowout treatment?
Yes. You can swim in either, however, the treatment may be slightly compromised if you swim on a regular basis. It is recommended that you apply the Brazilian Blowout Smoothing Serum on the hair prior to swimming in order to act as a protective barrier to maintain the smoothest possible result for the longest period of time.
How soon can I wash my hair after the Brazilian Blowout treatment?
You can wash your hair immediately after the Brazilian Blowout treatment, or as you would normally. We recommend the use of sulfate-free products.
Is Sulfate-Free really that important?
Absolutely. We, at Studio 33, have tested to make sure. We found that the treatment will leave the hair in 8 weeks by using a shampoo with sulfates. Shortening the life of the treatment by a month!
How long does Brazilian Blowout last?
It will last for 10-12 weeks if the proper maintenance products are used. The Brazilian Blowout is a cumulative treatment. Meaning, the more you receive it, the healthier the hair will be and the longer the result will last. We guarantee the service as long as you purchase products in the salon that we have tested and approve to be compatable with the Brazilian Blowout service.
How soon can I receive a Brazilian Blowout treatment after I receive my first treatment?
The Brazilian Blowout is just like a conditioning treatment, so you will not harm the hair by performing them too soon or too much. However, please remember that you can only fill the cuticle to its capacity. If you want to come back for another treatment, you can come back as early as 10 days following the first treatment.
Can I receive a Brazilian Blowout if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
There have been no clinical tests performed on the safety of performing the Brazilian Blowout on pregnant women or women who are breastfeeding. As a result, we do advise against these women from receiving the Brazilian Blowout.
What if I want my natural hair back?

The hair will revert to its original state after the Brazilian Blowout treatment has completed its life cycle of 10-12 weeks, however, the condition of the hair will actually improve as a result of the fortifying and conditioning nature of the product.

If you should decide you want the treatment out even faster, the use of sulfated shampoo will speed up the process.

What if I'm still not sure?
We encourage you to schedule for a complimentary consultation. At that time we will be able to inform you of the benefits of the Brazilian Blowout based on your hair and your individual needs.
